About the Opportunity:

Bupa Medical Visa Services provides health assessments in a professional, caring and respectful way. Our main service is the provision of visa and migration medical services to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP). This includes on-shore immigration medical examinations through our 6 Bupa centres and a network of partner centres nationally.

The Role:

We are seeking a Casual Health Assessor to join our Centre in Docklands, Melbourne:

  • pick up shifts to cover sick and annual leave of other staff members and assist with any gaps in the roster
  • You may also pick up extra shifts during our ‘peak’ period which is our busiest time of year Feb – Apr 2018
  • We cannot guarantee any set hours or days, however shifts would generally be for 7.6hrs in duration.

The Melbourne centre is conveniently located on Bourke Street in Docklands near Southern Cross train Station and is open 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday and also Saturdays during our peak period (Feb – Apr).

This role would suit someone who is already working casually or part-time and who has good flexibility to pick up shifts across Monday – Friday as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Health Assessor, the Health Assessor will be responsible for providing quality health assessments to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection visa applicants. This includes;

  • Identity Check, blood pressure, height, weight, body mass index, vision testing, urinalysis and venepuncture
  • Facilitate smooth delivery of the applicants through the medical assessment to ensure a timely and accurate service
  • Adhere to clinical governance and associated policies and procedures
  • Accurate documentation of results in e Health record

Your Background:

You will have:

  • Certificate III or IV in Pathology or a Diploma of Nursing (mandatory)
  • Min 3-6mth Phlebotomy experience essential (mandatory)
  • Minimum 3 days availability between Monday-Saturday (mandatory)
  • Experience working with people of multi-cultural background
  • Immigration experience will be highly regarded
