The Opportunity

Our Healthcare Centre is a new modern centre offering GP consultations and allied health services to the local community. 

Our Healthcare Centre in Seaforth are currently seeking a receptionist to join the team on a casual basis to work on Monday, Thursday, and Friday from afternoon till early evening. 

About the Role

You will play a pivotal role as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals. Ensuring smooth operation of the clinic's front desk by handling administrative tasks, scheduling appointments, managing patient inquiries, and facilitating the flow of communication between patients and medical staff, you will provide first-level information and instructions and guide customers through their experience in the health centre   

Some of your duties will include:

Reception & Appointment Scheduling:

Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience. 

Register new patients and update existing patient information accurately in the clinic's system. 

Manage appointment bookings efficiently, coordinating with medical staff to schedule consultations, tests, and follow-up appointments. 

Monitor and organize the daily schedule to accommodate urgent and routine visits. 

Administrative Support: 

Perform various administrative tasks, including handling phone calls, responding to emails, maintaining patient records, processing paperwork, and managing health insurance and Medicare-related documentation accurately and in compliance with privacy regulations. 

Assist in processing payments, health insurance claims, and billing inquiries, ensuring accurate documentation and confidentiality. 

Concierge: 

Provide patients with necessary information about clinic services, policies, and procedures.

Communicate effectively to patients about their responsibilities, fees, and any preparatory instructions for appointments or procedures. 

Support for Clinical Staff: 

Coordinate with clinical professionals to ensure patient needs and schedules are met. 

Communicate patient arrivals, manage medical records, and assist in facilitating a smooth patient flow within the clinic. 

About You

Prior medical reception experience is highly desirable

Knowledge of Best Practice is an advantage

Flexibility in working hours

Process patient details and related administrative tasks with a professional, service-orientated, and helpful approach. 

Excellent attention to detail in a high-volume, consistent, and repetitious environment. 

Excellent communication skills to meet the needs of the customer and convey information and key points clearly and concisely.
