About the opportunity

Our role is to support the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to meet the Nation’s commitment to care for our veterans and Defence service community - the men and women who have served Australia in times of war and conflict as well as peacetime.

As part of Bupa’s service offering, Bupa assists DVA by providing high-quality clinical advice.

About the role 

In this unique Enrolled Nurse role, you will;

  1. Assist Medical Advisers by identifying and collating relevant medical evidence to support the review of claims. 

  1. Provide concise, accurate summaries of the medical evidence.

  1. Support other tasks related to the collection and use of clinical evidence, which may include:

  1. Reviewing medical evidence collection processes.
  2. Drafting correspondence.
  3. Maintaining accurate data and records of documents reviewed.

About you 

We’re looking for an Enrolled Nurse keen to move into a role without direct patient contact to work within a multidisciplinary team. The position is located at the DVA Melbourne or Canberra CBD Office.

Role Details – Permanent part time 3 days a week based in Melbourne DVA office

Role requirements

  • Unrestricted Aphra registration with the Nursing and Midwifery board 
  • Evidence of at least 2 years current clinical experience
  • Strong critical analysis skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and non-clinical professionals.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and judgement in dealing with client related issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive team member.
  • You must be an Australian citizen and be able to attain and maintain a baseline security clearance from the Defence security and vetting service.
