What’s your role?

As a Senior Product Owner, you are the ‘glue’ between our customers, our business, and our delivery teams. You’ll work with key stakeholders to ensure Bupa is building the right products and with our delivery teams to ensure we are building those products in the right way.

You will understand customer needs and the business’ goals and represent these in the CRM domain.

What will my day involve?

  • Leading a Connexions Delivery Squad jointly with the Delivery Manager to deliver transformational capabilities the Bupa for Bupa Health Insurance business, prioritised via the Change Delivery Hub process and the Strategic CRM Governing body (Design Authority Forum)
  • Leading the Business Team, Connexions Design Team to analyse and design business requirements into epics, features and user stories, gaining business sign-off and translating these requirements to the Delivery Team.  
  • Creating, prioritising and maintaining the team backlog, defining release and sprint goals and answering questions to add detail to user stories
  • Ensuring that the Connexions Design Principles are being met for each initiative that is being worked on in your squad, putting the customer, consultant and Bupa’s operational efficiency at the heart of the design for every Connexions capability being released to the business.   
  • Actively engaging with Business IO’s, Squad leaders and Stream sponsors to understand their priorities business needs and provide thought leadership on how the future state strategy can be achieved via the CRM.
  • Be an active member of the Design Chapter, including reporting on progress against the Connexions Foundations Roadmap, Delivery Hub Initiatives, and outlining risks/issues and any support required to meet the agreed timeline completion of the initiatives the Connexions Squads are working on.  
  • Providing feedback to the Technology Delivery Lead on the performance of the squad team members working to deliver capabilities in Connexions that the squad has committed to for each PI plan (project increment cycles). 
  • Identifying and outline any upgrades or strategic improvements (both from a Dynamics upgrade pathway or Strategic pathway) to be considered as additional features or improvements.
  • Working with the business stakeholders to leverage the key benefits from the CRM and associated platforms/ concepts related to the CRM i.e. Workflow management, Data management, Visibility and reporting.
  • Assisting and mentoring other Product Owners, providing guidance and advice, and ensuring consistency in methodology, practices, and approach. 
  • Working closely with business stakeholders to understand business drivers, considerations and necessary approvals.
  • Working closely with data and analytics to capture customer behaviours and help inform decisions and product development.
  • You may also carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Bupa from time to time. 

What will I bring?

  • An ability to demonstrate the iterative delivery of a products roadmap E2E
  • Proven capability in a Senior Product Owner role, leading the delivery of transformational business change through business process and technology assets (ideally CRM)
  • Experience in managing external vendor delivery relationships, on-shore and off-shore, to deliver against agreed metrics and targets.   
  • Experience in leading a delivery and UX design team in a Senior Product Owner Capacity.
  • Experience in applying lean, human-centred design and agile methods and principles to solution design and delivery
  • Experience in and understanding of complex operational environments
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment as a Senior Product Owner including an understanding of incremental delivery of value.
  • Experience working across multiple streams in a fast paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
  • Organised and planned: you can prioritise effectively to maintain a manageable workload for teams.
  • Ownership and accountability: you have a strong ability to resolve complex problems, working through situations and opportunities.
  • Excellent client relationship / stakeholder management skills with strong ability to extract / elicit requirements / problems in customer experiences.
  • Good understanding of varying methods for capturing and documenting requirements / user stories.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with demonstrated experience in delivering complex transformational change across multiple areas of a business.
  • Ability to assess the impact of implementing change on other areas of business
  • Demonstrable ability to lead through ambiguity.
  • Strong business acumen, you understand the bigger picture and can communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels   
  • Demonstrated experience in business case generation, tracking and reporting, including business value, benefits, and outputs after delivery.
