About the Role

As a Health Coach, you'll work with customers enrolled in Bupa's health and wellbeing programs, providing personalised coaching, education and support over the phone. Using your clinical expertise and evidence-based behavioural coaching techniques, you will empower customers to make sustainable lifestyle changes and become more active participants in managing their own health.

You'll support customers through programs including:

  • Chronic Disease Management programs designed to educate, empower and support members living with ongoing health conditions.
  • Recovery Support programs that provide pre-admission and post-discharge support to help customers recover safely and reduce avoidable hospital readmissions.
  • Health and wellbeing coaching focused on achieving meaningful and sustainable health outcomes.

This is a purposeful role where you'll build genuine connections with customers and contribute to improving health outcomes while helping keep people well and out of hospital.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound and scheduled customer coaching calls.
  • Assess customer health status and identify opportunities for improved health outcomes.
  • Develop personalised action plans aligned to customer goals.
  • Use your clinical knowledge to educate and motivate customers to make positive health and lifestyle changes.
  • Deliver evidence-based, person-centred coaching and support.
  • Manage an individual caseload and document all interactions accurately.
  • Support customers to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to self-manage their health.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Achieve productivity, quality and customer engagement targets.

About You

  • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (Division 1) qualification with AHPRA registration.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and engage customers over the phone.
  • Sound computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • A passion for helping people achieve better health outcomes.
  • A positive, personable and adaptable approach with a willingness to learn and develop.

Desirable

  • Experience in acute, community, chronic disease management, rehabilitation or health coaching environments.
  • Previous telephone-based clinical support or coaching experience.
  • Experience supporting behaviour change and self-management of health conditions.
