At Bupa, we specialise in well-being and have years of proven experience and expertise in healthcare. We believe in being good people and helping others whenever we can - because what makes our hearts beat is helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world.
Our care puts customers at the heart of everything we do. We make a genuine effort to see the world through our customers’ eyes to make things easy, keep relevant to their needs and showing empathy and understanding.
Think beyond a conventional contact centre role
Our Customer Support team is Bupa’s concierge service, often the first interaction customers have with Bupa Australia.
In this role, you’ll guide people through policy options, introduce our products and health programs, and make navigating private health insurance simple.
As an agent, you’ll manage calls while navigating Bupa’s systems to deliver seamless service.
This is a full-time role (38 hours per week) on a rotating roster with hours between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday. Our hybrid teams work from home with a minimum 2 days per week in our Melbourne CBD or Brisbane CBD contact centres.
Our commitment to your development:
In your first weeks, you’ll complete an immersive hybrid (in-office and remote) training program, combining virtual classrooms, e-learning, product knowledge, and our "Know-It" system to set you up for success.
Learning doesn’t stop there; our small team structure means regular coaching from dedicated trainers and Team Leaders to help you thrive in what can be a challenging role.
A career in Customer Service is also a launchpad to opportunities right across Bupa, giving you the skills and experience to grow wherever you want to take your career.
Is this a role for you?
In this kind of role, first and foremost you need to have a passion for helping people and be naturally empathetic.
No two calls are the same and some will have you dealing with challenging or complex life-matters. You are someone who has a strong desire to help our customers, and you will ensure they are always satisfied.
Some other traits that will help you succeed here:
A team player who is punctual and happy to step in for your teammates when needed
Recent customer service experience in a related environment
A quick learner that operates effectively in a disciplined virtual environment
A mature attitude to your work, with sensitivity to our customers' confidential information
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
Tech savvy with the ability to work across multiple IT platforms and screens effortlessly
The ability to obtain NBN internet that has bandwidth of 50mbps or greater
Benefits:
The special thing about Bupa is that care is at our core and will always be a part of how we operate. Extending that, we want our people to feel they are benefiting from Bupa’s purpose: so that everyone is supported to live the healthiest and happiest version of themselves. Simply put, this is what wellbeing means at Bupa.
Our global wellbeing program covers all aspects of our health – from mental and physical, to financial, social and environmental wellbeing. We are providing health benefits, information and support for everyone who works here, no matter their role.
From call centre to Legal Director: Janina’s journey through curiosity, courage and culture at Bupa
When Janina started working in Bupa’s call centre back in 2003, it was simply a part-time university job. Today, she’s Bupa’s Legal Director for Privacy, Data and Regulatory, a role she jokingly describes as the organisation’s “resident privacy nerd.”
We’re incredibly proud to share that Bupa Australia has been officially certified as a Great Place to Work®. At Bupa, our culture is grounded in care, so this recognition means a lot to us.
