Bupa is seeking an experienced Process Automation Business Analyst to join our Health Insurance (HI) Operations team. This is an exciting permanent opportunity to play a key role in bridging business and technology, driving automation outcomes, and improving operational efficiency across our organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Automations HI Operations, this role will support both the optimisation and governance of our automation landscape, ensuring business improvements are delivered seamlessly without impacting customer experience.
The Opportunity
As a Process Automation Business Analyst, you will act as the critical link between business stakeholders and technology teams, identifying opportunities to enhance processes through automation and continuous improvement.
You will support the end-to-end lifecycle of automation initiatives—from requirements gathering and process design through to implementation, governance, and ongoing optimisation—ensuring solutions deliver measurable value and align to HI strategy.
You will:
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify, analyse, and document automation opportunities and process improvements
- Maintain and make recommendations on priorities in the automation backlog in line with strategic objectives and delivery initiatives
- Support detailed process design for new and existing automation solutions
- Identify customer, system, and people impacts of process changes and support in implementing mitigation strategies as required
- Conduct regular process reviews to ensure currency of automations and identifying improvement opportunities
- Support automation governance by analysing exception rates, investigating outages, and recommending remediation actions
- Build business cases to support prioritisation and investment in automation initiatives
- Investigate and support resolution of automation incidents, including root cause analysis and preventative actions
- Collaborate with developers, IT teams, and external vendors to resolve technical issues and optimise performance
- Create and maintain dashboards and reporting to track automation performance, KPIs, and trends
- Support UAT and PVT activities for automation deployments and enhancements
- Leverage data and analytics to identify trends, reduce exceptions, and recommend future automation opportunities
Ideal Candidate Background
The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capability and proven experience working within automation, process optimisation, or business analysis roles in a complex operational environment.
You will be comfortable working across both “run” and “change” environments and have demonstrated experience influencing stakeholders, improving processes, and delivering automation-driven outcomes.
Experience in health insurance or financial services, will be highly regarded.

You will bring:
- Strong experience in business analysis, process improvement, or automation environments
- Proven experience working with automation technologies and optimisation initiatives
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across business and technical teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a high-change environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts clearly
- Experience supporting testing (UAT/PVT) and implementation of system or process changes
- A customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering fair and efficient outcomes
Highly desirable:
- Knowledge of Bupa systems such as Cyclops, BOSS, and Apollo
- Experience in health insurance operations or similar environments
- Exposure to automation platforms (e.g. UiPath, Power Automate)
- Experience in process governance frameworks and repository management
