The role purpose

We are seeking an experienced Senior Transformation Project Manager to lead and deliver a significant technology uplift program across our ADF (Australian Defence Force) services, with potential broader rollout across Dental, Optical and BVAC health service teams. This is initially a 12 month fixed term contract with a very strong opportunity to be extended to two years. 

This is a high impact leadership role responsible for the end to end delivery of large, strategic transformation programs. You will oversee multiple complex, cross functional workstreams, driving both business and technology change while ensuring alignment to operational, clinical, and regulatory requirements.

Some of the workstream are: 

New Workforce Management System

ADF Credentialling 

Contract Management 

Referrals and Appointment Booking management 

Invoice management 

What you’ll need to make it possible

Previous experience supporting ADF or similar large complex environments

Baseline / NV1 clearances and must be an Australian Citizen  

8 to 10 years’ experience in a large-scale program management role, managing medium to large projects (circa $100M - $300M) with high levels of complexity, multiple dependencies and with up to 10 - 20+ indirect report 

Demonstrated experience in project status reporting, scheduling, dependency management and milestone tracking techniques, financial / budget management and risk management 

Proven track record influencing and negotiating successful outcomes with Sponsors, Project Managers and senior stakeholders 

Experience running RFPs/RFIs and managing vendor relationships 

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to senior levels and report writing 

Experience in Agile project delivery (and knowing when and how to best use it) 

Strong understanding of SAFe (e.g. PI planning), DevOps and SDLC 

Able to use and adapt to technology by taking fundamental principles and applying them in the new context 

Experience applying Six Sigma or Lean process improvement techniques will be highly regarded
