Bupa Templestowe is a modern care home, located 20km’s North West of Melbourne’s CBD, close to the Yarra River and scenic parklands. It consists of 4 communities, with a Clinical Care Manager and Registered Nurse in each community. We have dementia care and high care units, within this 142-bed care home. The opportunity

As our Lifestyle & Wellbeing Coordinator, you’ll lead the day-to-day delivery of a vibrant, resident-led lifestyle program that supports connection, purpose and wellbeing. You’ll create meaningful engagement across the home; 1:1 and in social groups tailored to residents’ interests, routines and goals. 

You’ll lead and support the Wellbeing Carer team, whose work includes both meaningful engagement and hospitality-style support that contributes to a welcoming dining and daily living experience. You’ll coordinate volunteers and community connections and help set the rhythm of each day - from activity spaces and special events to outings, newsletters and family communications.

You’ll also complete lifestyle assessments and ensure required documentation is accurate and up to date. This role is a mix of strategic planning and hands-on support. You’ll set direction for the lifestyle program, mentor and guide the Wellbeing Carer team, and step in to lead bigger events and activities that require your expertise. Day to day, you’ll also spend time with residents, supporting meaningful engagement and embedding evidence-based approaches (including Montessori-style engagement within the Dementia Support Community).


This is a Permanent Full-time role paying between $38.73/hr - $40-93/hr

Duties 

  • Plan and coordinate a resident-led lifestyle calendar and special events, working closely with the care home leadership team 
  • Create inclusive opportunities that recognise each resident’s values, identity, culture and spirituality, and support positive relationships with families and carers
  • Lead and support the Wellbeing Carer team to deliver engaging daily experiences including 1:1 time and social group activities and hospitality-style support 
  • Complete lifestyle assessments and contribute to care planning, ensuring resident goals, participation and outcomes are documented accurately and on time
  • Coordinate community connections - including volunteers, entertainers and outings and support lifestyle communications (e.g., newsletters and social posts)
  • Maintain safe, compliant practice - including infection control and WHS 
  • Complete regular activity evaluations and contribute to audits and continuous improvement to strengthen the lifestyle program

What will you bring? 

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (or equivalent) is essential (degree-level qualifications highly regarded
  • Proven experience in lifestyle, wellbeing or activities coordination (ideally within aged care or community care)
  • Current First Aid certificate (including CPR) is essential
  • Confidence supporting older people’s wellbeing, including residents living with dementia, and a genuine commitment to person-first care
  • Strong planning and judgement skills and the ability to organise a busy team calendar of daily activities, events, documentation and deadlines
  • Warm, professional communication skills - able to build trust with residents, families, volunteers and the broader care team
  • Understanding of resident rights, safety and quality standards, and the importance of accurate documentation
  • Comfortable using digital systems to plan and complete required resident and program documentation.
