About the Home
Our Clayton care home is set within a lively community 25kms from the CBD, surrounded by a hospital, supermarket, and schools. It consists of 155 beds, with a variety of care types. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents.
About the Role
To deliver effective support to the hospitality function within the care home, including catering, cleaning and laundry
Use your fantastic food services and cleaning skills in a role where you really can make a difference by providing our residents with an empathetic and personal approach.
About you
- Previous catering / food service or cleaning experience preferred but not essential.
- You will be a team player and someone who enjoys interacting with people and giving back to our most vulnerable.
Duties
- Maintain legislated workplace health and safety, quality and hygiene standards
- Complete required documentation and reporting
- Respond to residents’ queries and requests
- Laundry duties include loading washers & dryers, sort linen, hang, fold, wrap or iron linen
- Catering / food services duties include assisting with basic food prep, provide meals and snacks, clear dining areas and dishwashing
- Cleaning duties include general cleaning; mopping, vacuuming, and waste collection in the residents’ rooms, bathrooms, communal and living areas
Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Cleaning or catering experience preferred but not essential
- Flexible availability for a variety of shifts throughout the week
- You will have an understanding of work health, safety and hygiene practices and the ability to work unsupervised.
