The opportunity

We’re on the lookout for a Business Process Improvement Analyst to join our People team on a 10-month fixed term contract.

Working as part of Bupa APAC Employee Experience and Operations team, the Business Process Improvement Analyst plays a key role in supporting Bupa to manage its operational risks and compliance. 

Your primary focus areas are to support business process improvement initiatives and maintain the People team process maps.

You will be responsible for working with the Business Process Improvement Manager and collaborating with the wider People team to discover, advise, and support delivery of process improvement opportunities.  You will also be responsible foridentifying change impacts to People processes and maintaining up to date People team process maps by running workshops to review and update process maps with relevant SMEs.

This role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane with hybrid working arrangements available.

How will you make an impact?

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support Employee Experience function to ensure that Bupa is complying with and delivering the end-to-end people lifecycle obligations in accordance with Legislation, Regulations, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, National Employment Standards and case law. 
  • Ensure that process walkthroughs and regular audits of process compliance are conducted to ensure that risks are being appropriately managed by the business and in accordance with applicable regulatory and contractual obligations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Support the identification of pain points and bottlenecks in the current processes. 
  • Make process design and development recommendations to standardise, improve, or redesign processes to meet business needs, improve service delivery and employee experience.
  • Ensure all APAC People team processes are captured and are current by creating and updating process maps in line with any changes to systems, processes, and legislations.
  • Maintain the People team process library ServiceNow site to ensure the process maps published are up to date and communicate updated process maps to Mega to ensure Bupa’s central process repository is up to date. 
  • Maintain the People team process map inventory with up-to-date information and use this to conduct process change impact assessments when changes to systems, processes or legislations are introduced.
  • Review all People team process maps annually by conducting workshops with the relevant SMEs to update process maps to ensure accuracy and compliance. 
  • Liaise with the Risk & Compliance team to determine new or updates to Risks/Controls in processes. 
  • Be a pivotal point of contact for the People team in addressing process-related enquiries.

What do I need?


  • Previous experience within Business Process Improvement, Process Analyst, Business Analyst or Systems Analyst role.
  • Exposure to People processes and risk controls. 
  • Experience with process mapping, preferably with Visio experience. 
  • Proficient in the use of Excel.
  • You must be able to run process mapping workshops effectively to gather detailed process information and ask the right questions to ensure all process steps are accurately captured. 
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, technical and functional specialists, business facing People team, operational and line managers is required.
