The purpose of this job is…..


The ADF Health Services Contract provides integrated and seamless end-to-end health support to 85,000 Defence personnel across 59 facilities. This includes integrated workforce providing health services such as primary and occupational healthcare, dental, physiotherapy, mental health and psychology services, pharmacy, occupational rehabilitation and health administration. As well pathology, imaging and radiology, vocational rehabilitation, mental health, hospital, specialist, allied health, patient transport and other off base services enabled by Bupa systems. 


The Commercial Analyst is responsible for the analytics of network margin assumptions and supporting the health insights function to drive optimisation through commercial insight.


Responsibilities include:


  • Provide commercial support for the wider Bupa ADF team including commercial reviews and data analysis 
  • Utilise dashboards and reports to translate financial performance and targets to support individual business stakeholder requests 
  • Support with the preparation of commercial briefs and reports 
  • Partner with other functions and departments within Bupa ADF to develop tools, calculators and processes aimed at improving commercial decision making 
  • Manage Private Hospital network indexation processes 
  • Provide subject matter expert support on business improvement projects and data management initiatives 
  • Provider network data analysis (including managing AOP margin assumptions) and associated optimisation
  • Data analysis related to provider negotiations



What you’ll need to make it possible 


  • Post-graduate business degree ideal but not essential
  • Prior experience within a customer-centric and high performing environment, focused on delivering exceptional value to Defence personnel and for our business, while ensuring Contract governance and performance 
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Commercial Analyst (or equivalent). 
  • Experience in understanding commercial contracts, with strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proven application of financial and operational performance frameworks to drive business outcomes and contractual obligations 
  • This is a Security Cleared Position. The occupant must be an Australian Citizen and must be eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance
