The purpose of the Head of Pay, Compliance and Systems role is to lead the effective delivery of payroll operations, pay compliance, and systems governance across Australia and New Zealand. This role provides senior leadership and operational oversight, ensuring pay processes are accurate, reliable, and well‑supported by robust systems and controls. As a key partner to the General Manager, the position drives strong operational performance, guides day‑to‑day decision‑making, and supports important improvement initiatives. It also plays a central role in building collaborative relationships across the business and fostering a positive, supportive, and continuous improvement focused team environment.
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Demonstrated experience leading payroll, payroll operations, pay compliance, or payroll system focused teams within regulated environments.
- Proven operational leadership capability with ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
- Deep understanding of payroll compliance frameworks, industrial instruments, award interpretation, and system control environments.
- Experience managing cross‑functional stakeholders and external vendors.
- Familiarity with iChris, UKG Dimensions, and integrated HRIS/payroll architectures (Workday)
- Prior Head‑of‑level or senior leadership experience in Payroll, HR Operations, People Systems or Compliance, with relevant team leadership experience
