The purpose of this job is:
The Communications and Corporate Affairs Advisor (12 month fixed term contract) is responsible for supporting the Director of Corporate Affairs and senior team members in partnering with our Health Services businesses (for example Mindplace, our mental health clinics & Bupa Medical) providing support and advice. The role will be responsible for planning and delivering communications and Corporate Affairs activity, including internal / external communications, engagement activity, events and content that support strategic and operational priorities.
How will I help?
- Deliver activity aligned to business and Corporate Affairs priorities, contributing to planning and day‑to‑day execution
- Develop and deliver high‑quality content across multiple formats (written, visual, video, presentations and events) and to diverse audiences – including senior leaders, clinicians, customer-facing teams and external groups.
- Provide communications and Corporate Affairs advice and support to Health Services businesses, drawing on an understanding of business objectives, audiences and key issues
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Corporate Affairs & Sustainability to support broader Bupa initiatives, contributing to coordinated delivery
- Assist in identifying emerging issues, opportunities and reputational considerations, escalating risks and recommendations to senior team members as appropriate
- Work with the business to identify appropriate opportunities to share Bupa’s story internally to inspire our people, and externally to position Bupa as a leader in health and care
- Support the delivery of change and project communications, helping ensure impacts are considered and clearly communicated
- Track, measure and determine the value of communication execution and channels
What you’ll need to make it possible
We are looking for someone who brings strong tertiary qualifications in Communications, Business, or a related discipline, paired with hands on experience working within a matrix team environment to successfully deliver outcomes. You will be comfortable navigating complexity, contributing across teams, and maintaining focus on shared goals. You love to roll up your sleeves and get things done.
A proven track record using a broad range of communication techniques and channels is key, including high‑quality written content, presentations, and digital content creation. Experience working with communication and engagement platforms such as intranets, SharePoint, EDM distribution tools and web based platforms will be essential to your success in the role.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills are critical. You will be confident building rapport at all levels, providing clear, practical advice, and identifying both opportunities and potential risks in a dynamic environment. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work constructively with diverse stakeholders will set you apart.
