The Opportunity

Supporting Bupa’s ambition to be Australia-Pacific's most customer-centric healthcare company, we are moving towards a Content as a Service (CaaS) model. Our content vision is to provide people with personalised and relevant content when, where and how they need it. To help ensure success, we are looking for a specialist to set the foundations for our content modelling approach.

As a part of the Content Experience team, the Content Modelling Specialist will initially be embedded in the dedicated CaaS squad. Here, a primary function will be to build out an efficient content modelling system that can be embedded into, and scale with, Bupa’s design system. This includes taking a holistic approach to the ongoing development of a component tagging system. The role will provide critical support to various product teams across the enterprise as different platforms and channels are onboarded into the headless CMS.

In line with Bupa’s agile approach, over time the role will evolve and work within other projects across the enterprise. Throughout, secondary functions include supporting the foundational uplift in content governance and content design capability.

What will your day look like?

Your day to day will involve:

  • Content modelling for CaaS – working with various teams across Bupa to build out content definitions and relationships, advise on structure, organisation and components, and establish a flexible and consistent content tagging system.
  • Content governance capability – supporting the Content Governance team to establish a consistent and effective approach to content. Contribute to the development of best practice content processes, tools and systems across the organisation.
  • User-centred content design – working with peers in the content design team to help them create and deliver content design frameworks and solutions that prioritise a cohesive end-to-end user experience. This role drives the approach to content modelling in a broader multidisciplinary team that includes content strategists, UX designers and researchers, and service designers, among many others.

What will you bring?

  • Tertiary qualifications in journalism, professional writing and editing or a similar communications field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in content modelling, content design, UX content strategy, product content design or information architecture.
  • Demonstrated expertise in content design systems, content modelling and/or information architecture.
  • Experience working in a headless CMS applying CaaS methods and strategies.
  • Traditional CMS production experience.
  • Working knowledge of content design and governance principles
  • Strong background in using data and research to optimise content performance.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • High-level copywriting and editing experience
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively

Customer care during COVID

When COVID-19 hit we knew we had a responsibility to care for our customers by putting them at the heart of our decisions.

For this reason, in April 2020 our Health Insurance team invested over $50M and created the hardship team to support our customers when they most needed it.

Ban the asterisk

Our customers have told us that our products can be confusing and complex when we add an asterisk (*) with fine print in our policies. To respond to our customers’ needs, in 2020 the Product Deisgn Squad was created to make our products simpler, more relecant and personalised. Here’s how putting our customers at the heart of everything helped the team ban the *.
