Opportunity snapshot - 1-year Fixed Term Contract

The Content Technical Lead is responsible for leading the technical design and implementation of Bupa’s enterprise content workflow management platform and associated integrations. The role leads solution design, configuration, and integration design for the enterprise workflow management platform, ensuring the platform supports standardised workflows, embedded governance, connected tools, reusable assets, AI-enabled controls, and reliable operational performance.

Reporting to the Content Operations and Governance Manager, the role works cross functionally with partners spanning content, technology, marketing, risk, procurement, implementation partners, and business stakeholders to implement workflow management platforms, ensuring configured and deployed in line with Bupa’s content supply chain, governance, control, and enterprise technology requirements.

 Responsibilities 

  • Lead the technical implementation of the enterprise content workflow management platform, including solution design, configuration oversight, and environment readiness.
  • Deliver target-state technical architecture for workflow management, digital asset management, CMS and publishing integration, creative tool connectivity, metadata exchange, and supporting data flows.
  • Define practical technical design patterns for the platform, including composable architecture, API-first integration, and adaptive standardisation.
  • Define and oversee core content system integrations with core platforms such as Jira, CMS’, creative tools, identity and access systems, and any required reporting or monitoring tools.
  • Establish technical patterns for persistent IDs, metadata synchronisation, approval traceability, asset lifecycle controls, and auditable links between workflow records and published content.
  • Ensure the solution supports embedded governance and risk controls, including approval gates, escalation pathways, rights and usage restrictions, lifecycle rules, review and expiry triggers, and audit-ready records.
  • Partner with risk, legal, compliance, privacy, security, and technology teams to ensure the platform meets control, security, and data handling requirements before and during implementation.
  • Provide technical leadership in vendor engagement during platform implementation, including design validation, feasibility assessment, non-functional requirements, and architecture trade-offs.
  • Convert business requirements and workflow requirements into technical configuration, integration, and control requirements for the platform.
  • Contribute to AI and automation use cases within the platform, including agent-based orchestration, trigger-based actions, human-in-the-loop controls, and transparent logging of automated decisions.
  • Define technical success measures and implementation quality criteria, including throughput, cycle times, bottlenecks, adoption, metadata quality, control coverage, and integration reliability.
  • Provide ongoing technical leadership across implementation, testing, release readiness, and continuous improvement.


 Requirements 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, enterprise architecture, engineering, marketing technology, or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate study or industry certification in enterprise architecture, platform implementation, or digital transformation would be desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the technical design and implementation of enterprise content, marketing, or customer platforms.
  • Strong experience with workflow management, digital asset management, CMS and publishing integrations, metadata frameworks, and API-led connected ecosystems.
  • Deep knowledge of composable architecture, systems integration, platform governance, security, and risk controls in complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to translate business and workflow requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technology, content, marketing, legal, risk, privacy, security, procurement, and external vendors to deliver large-scale platform implementations.
  • Experience with MarT ech, AdTech, customer data, personalisation, and digital experience platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled workflow, automation, or agent-based orchestration use cases would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate credibly with senior stakeholders, ensure vendor capability and roadmap fit, and balance technical feasibility, compliance, and operational performance.
