About the opportunity:
The (Complementary) Travel, Home and Car product Specialist role operates within a supportive and engaging contact centre environment which sits in within our General Insurance Business.
The role is responsible for actively acquiring new customers by ensuring customers are offered solutions that meet their needs. This is done through various inbound and outbound telephone contact.
The Complementary Product Specialist is dedicated to delivering great customer conversations and solutions that are in the best interest of the customer and deliver value to our members, encompassed through value-add interactions, and sustainable and strong quality practices.

This is a full-time opportunity, 38 hours per week across a rotating roster with start and finish times between 8am – 7pm and can be based in VIC, NSW and QLD (as long as your internet meets the requirements).
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver great value conversations with potential customers, through inbound and outbound telephone contact, to ensure they are offered the most appropriate cover with a view to creating the long-term retention of customers.
- Provide exceptional customer experiences by educating customers on the breadth of services that Bupa offers and demonstrating the value of being a Bupa member.
- Understand and work towards individual and team targets and strive to exceed these.
- Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and accountability to fellow team members in contributing towards our purpose and a positive working environment.
- Seeking and acting on feedback from internal and external customers.
- Live and breathe the Bupa Australia Values and Customer Led Behaviours by leading by example.
- Demonstrate resilience with a growth mindset and positive attitude towards change
- Liaise with key stakeholders such as Bupa Customer Service, Retail, Growth Channels and IAG stakeholders to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Build and maintain General Insurance Industry and Product knowledge.
- Update systems on customer contacts to ensure accurate customer records are maintained.
- Legal and regulatory compliance, adherence to internal operating procedures together with the management of business risks is the responsibility of every Bupa employee. You are required to comply with Bupa’s risk and compliance policies, procedures, frameworks and regulatory requirements, as they apply to your specific role at Bupa.
You will also have:
- You will have a “how can I help”, customer-oriented sales approach
- A strong desire to assist our customers to find the best fit products and solutions
- Previous experience in a sales related role or outbound customer service environment
- General insurance industry experience preferred
- Proven track record to achieve set targets
- Strong communication skills including excellent listening skills
- Ability to work in a constantly changing environment
- Ability to continually work under pressure
- Privacy/confidentiality issues – being discreet and sensitive to information, keeping matters confidential.
- Well-developed PC and key board skills
