The purpose of this job is:

As part of the APAC Financial Control team, the Senior Financial Accountant – Health Centres and Mental Health Clinics is responsible for delivering accurate financial accounting and maintaining strong internal controls across both businesses. The role manages month‑end processes, ensures the integrity of the general ledger, and supports statutory, regulatory, Group, and Board reporting. It is critical to compliance with corporate laws, Bupa Group policies, and the Financial Control Framework.

The role provides key technical accounting support, including assessing new accounting standards, advising on accounting treatments for new initiatives, contributing to key accounting papers, and supporting IFRS and Solvency II reporting to Group. It prepares balance sheet, cash flow and performance analysis, and partners closely with senior finance leaders to provide commercial insights.

This position also supports clinician invoicing controls, reviews financial data for accuracy, prepares P&L reporting, and identifies opportunities to improve financial processes and governance. It works with auditors on statutory reporting, contributes to forecasting activities across the balance sheet and cash flow, and supports integration and finance requirements for newly acquired businesses.

What you’ll need to make it possible

Success in this role requires a solid academic foundation, including a tertiary qualification in Business or Commerce and a CA or CPA qualification. Experience in financial accounting, external audit or a similar role within a large corporate environment is important, along with strong technical accounting capability. A deep understanding of accounting standards, audit procedures, statutory reporting and consolidation accounting is essential. Advanced Excel skills and strong data analysis capability are required to work confidently with complex financial information and ensure accuracy.

Strong organisational skills are important, with the ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet reporting deadlines, including during periods of ambiguity or change. A high level of analytical thinking, problem‑solving capability and a continuous improvement mindset will support effective decision‑making and process enhancement. Clear communication and strong relationship‑building skills are vital, as the role partners with a broad range of stakeholders across the business. Experience leading or mentoring others, along with flexibility during peak reporting cycles, will further contribute to success in this position.
