Be at the heart of it!

We’re looking for an experienced and delivery-focused Product Manager to step into a pivotal role within our Microsoft Cloud for Health squad. This is a short-term opportunity (up to 6 months) with an immediate start and can be engaged either on a daily rate contract or as a 6-month fixed-term Bupa employee. If you’re ready to hit the ground running and help shape digital healthcare solutions that make a real impact — we want to hear from you.

Bupa is undergoing a major transformation to become an integrated healthcare business, moving away from being just a portfolio of separate units. The goal is to create personalised, simple, and connected healthcare experiences that meet the diverse needs of our customers. Our vision is to offer seamless access to both digital and physical healthcare services, ensuring customers can easily manage their health.

This strategy focuses on improving existing services while reimagining the future of healthcare delivery. Key to this transformation is embedding innovation and a customer-first approach, with a strong emphasis on Connected Care to provide truly integrated and personalised healthcare for all.

Our global mission is to help our customers live healthier and happier lives. Just imagine the impact you could make!

This is a newly created role (with the opportunity to go permanent) and can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. Plus, with Bupa’s flexible hybrid working arrangements, you’ll have the option to work from home or the office.

How will you make an impact?

This Product Manager role for our Microsoft Cloud for Health feature squad will play a critical role in ensuring Bupa remains a leader in the healthcare market by implementing the right digital solutions and personalised experiences for our customers. By managing and developing key initiatives within our Health Care Platforms and Enterprise Enablers teams, you’ll help us meet the evolving needs of our diverse customer base. Your work will influence and drive strategic decisions that improve both the customer experience and business outcomes.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Own and drive the product backlog, prioritising features and initiatives that align with strategic goals and deliver maximum value.
  • Lead the end-to-end product delivery lifecycle – from discovery and design through to build and release – ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional squads, aligning the right capabilities and resources to meet delivery milestones and optimise squad performance.
  • Be accountable for product performance, including tracking KPIs, with a focus on delivering measurable impact.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders, incorporating customer and business feedback to shape and evolve the product roadmap.
  • Navigate complex delivery landscapes, managing risks, dependencies, and governance to keep initiatives moving at pace.

About You

You’re an experienced, agile-minded Product Manager who’s worked at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and human-centred design. You bring a rare mix of commercial savvy, delivery excellence, and domain expertise — particularly in health-tech or CRM-led environments. With a track record of launching digital products in complex, data-sensitive settings, you know how to prioritise ruthlessly, communicate clearly, and lead cross-functional squads with purpose. You're outcomes-focused, customer-obsessed, and comfortable operating in ambiguity — all while ensuring the product delivers genuine impact

Key skills and experience required:

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner delivering digital products in health-tech or CRM-led environments (B2B/B2C).
  • Hands-on knowledge of Dynamics 365 CRM, particularly Power Pages, Canvas or Model-driven apps, ideally within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience launching healthcare propositions using cloud healthcare platforms, such as Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare or Google Healthcare API (Preferred but not mandatory)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional squads using Agile and Lean methodologies, with a strong grasp of discovery-to-delivery cycles.
  • A track record of shipping scalable software solutions to production and resolving defects in live environments.
  • Strong commercial, analytical, and technical acumen, with the ability to balance customer needs, business goals, and delivery feasibility.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, complex environments, managing dependencies, risks, and stakeholder alignment with clarity.
  • A deep empathy for healthcare customers and a passion for improving digital health experiences across patient and clinician journeys.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or Agile Product certifications, paired with confident facilitation, communication, and prioritisation skills.

What’s in it for you

As well as a competitive salary, a range of Bupa benefits and flexible working/work from home arrangements, you’ll be encouraged to innovate. You will be collaborating with various teams globally to deliver exceptional experiences. You will have the opportunity to further learn and develop with excellent internal development courses available and a supportive, career development environment. We trust, respect and consider everyone, knowing your difference will make the difference.

Customer care during COVID

When COVID-19 hit we knew we had a responsibility to care for our customers by putting them at the heart of our decisions.

For this reason, in April 2020 our Health Insurance team invested over $50M and created the hardship team to support our customers when they most needed it.

Ban the asterisk

Our customers have told us that our products can be confusing and complex when we add an asterisk (*) with fine print in our policies. To respond to our customers’ needs, in 2020 the Product Deisgn Squad was created to make our products simpler, more relecant and personalised. Here’s how putting our customers at the heart of everything helped the team ban the *.
