The purpose of this role is:

As Risk Manager – Finance and Financial Crime APAC you’ll be responsible for the implementation of the Risk Management Framework across Financial Crime and Strategic Risk within the APAC region. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will provide independent challenge and support to ensure the business effectively identifies, manages and reports risks.

You will partner closely with senior stakeholders to strengthen risk maturity, uplift governance and control environments, and drive consistent, high-quality risk practices across Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. With a focus on areas such as financial control & reporting, taxation, M&A, financial crime, and 3YP stress & scenario testing, this role plays a key part in protecting the organisation while enabling informed decision-making and sustainable growth.

As a part of the Risk Functions team (line 2), this permanent hybrid position may be based from Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney.

What is needed to make it possible:

What truly sets apart exceptional candidates is their practical experience in implementing risk frameworks and a proven history of skilfully navigating stakeholder communications to construct a robust bridge of trust and understanding with the business is paramount.  

In addition, you’ll bring: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Accounting and Risk Management preferred 
• 5+ years’ experience in line 1 or line 2 risk management roles in financial services or insurance, in particular working in finance risk or financial crime risk management. 
• Comprehensive risk management experience, with a solid understanding of how the risk management strategy is operationalised. 
• Experience in presenting to senior management teams to educate all aspects of the Risk Management Framework, including facilitating risk workshops.
• Experience in uplifting and enhancing risk culture and awareness through education, collaboration, and challenge.
