The purpose of the role
In this role, you’ll lead the second line Technology Risk Assurance Program, delivering independent oversight across technology operations, cyber security, digital, data, and governance processes, providing senior leaders with confidence that Bupa’s key technology risks are effectively managed, controlled, and governed in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
As Risk Partner, Technology Assurance you will strengthen Bupa’s ability to meet its strategic goals by applying a disciplined, systematic approach to evaluating and enhancing internal controls. From control testing and assurance reviews to stakeholder engagement, planning, reporting, and continuous improvement, you’ll ensure assurance activities are robust, high‑quality, and aligned to organisational expectations.
This is a permanent, full-time role based at our Melbourne offices with flexible hybrid work arrangements available.
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Industry certifications in CISA complimented by a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security.
- Cyber and Information Security knowledge including awareness of key industry and regulatory standards and frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, NIST CSF, ISO27k, Essential 8, CPS 234.
- Deep experience (10+ years) in IT Audit, Technology Assurance, Risk Advisory, or Information Security, within a professional services or audit background to demonstrate your understanding of technology control testing methodologies and audit principles.
- You’ll be confident leading small teams, managing complex workloads, and engaging senior stakeholders with clear, influential communication.
- High integrity, strong organisational skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement—especially through data analytics, automation, or AI.
- Experience with cloud security, data visualisation, or continuous control monitoring would be advantageous, however not essential.
