The opportunity:
We have a new opportunity for a Senior Contract Manager to join Bupa's APAC Procurement team.
In this role, you will play a key role in leading the development and execution of enterprise-wide contract management strategies across Bupa. This includes accountability for delivering best-value outcomes through effective supplier engagement, commercial negotiation, and proactive contract governance. Categories may include medical and professional services.
We’re looking for an energetic new team member with deep contract knowledge and commercial management and who has an ability to assess, negotiate, and implement contract outcomes that align with Bupa’s operational needs, risk tolerance, and commercial goals.
This is a Sydney or Melbourne-based permanent role with hybrid work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive strategic contract management across a diverse portfolio, championing continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise-wide governance frameworks.
- Shape the future of contract excellence by collaborating with senior leaders to refine principles, policies, and standards that elevate Bupa’s commercial outcomes.
- Lead complex, high-value contract lifecycles from strategy to post-award management, ensuring stakeholder alignment and optimal supplier engagement.
- Negotiate with impact, securing commercially sound and risk-aligned terms that deliver long-term value across the supplier landscape.
- Partner cross-functionally, including Legal and Procurement, to ensure timely, accurate contract execution and seamless stakeholder collaboration.
- Be a trusted leader and delegate, supporting the Head of Contract Management in resolving competing priorities and ensuring operational continuity across APAC.

What do I need?
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in procurement, contract management, or related commercial roles, with a strong track record in strategy development and execution.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, with proven success in securing favourable commercial outcomes through strategic and innovative approaches.
- Strong analytical capability, including proficiency in business case development, risk profiling, cost modelling, and financial forecasting.
- Influential leadership and collaboration, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and build strong stakeholder relationships across complex organisational structures.
- Commercial acumen and accountability, with a focus on supplier performance, service level adherence, and value delivery.
- Customer-centric mindset, with the ability to align contract strategies to enhance customer experience outcomes.
- Relevant qualifications, including tertiary education in Business, Commerce, Law, or Engineering; MCIPS or PMP certifications highly regarded.
