The opportunity

We are a global function of over 100 audit professionals, who take a risk-based and data-led approach to drive our internal consultancy and valuable insights to Senior Management and the Board. We provide independent assurance on Bupa's risk management and control environment and are focused on influencing positive change to help our stakeholders continuously improve and better achieve strategic objectives. 

We are seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join our recently awarded 2024 IIA Audit Team of the Year, focusing on Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. 

Senior Auditors work across all of Bupa’s business areas, including health insurance, health services (dental, optical, government), aged care, and corporate and support functions such as Finance, People and Technology.

This permanent full-time position will be based at our Exhibition Street, Melbourne CBD offices. Bupa offers hybrid working arrangements and you can work from the office or from home.

What impact will you have? 

  • Help Bupa in accomplishing its strategic objectives through high quality insights that promote sound risk management practices and ongoing enhancement of the control environment.
  • Innovate and grow with the GIA function to ensure that our ways of working and audit execution align with leading practice and are relied upon and valued by the business for meaningful assurance insights.
  • Proactively establishing and fostering strong, independent, and objective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, acting as a catalyst for change by sharing knowledge and bringing risk and control expertise to the business
  • Collaborate with Global Internal Audit peers to lead change on a Group-wide scale, as well as leverage and learn from the vast knowledge base of a Global function.
  • Deliver and manage audit activities as part of a high-performing team to embed sustainable improvements across the business’ key processes and controls, to support Management’s achievement of Bupa’s strategy.

What do I need? 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
  • Professional qualifications (CIA, CA, ICAA, CPA, CIMA, PIIA etc)
  • Appropriate Professional associations & memberships
  • To demonstrate your technical competence, we suggest candidates will have a minimum of 4 years’ end to end internal audit lifecycle experience.
