The opportunity:

Be at the heart of our mission to become the world's most customer centric Healthcare company!

As Senior Portfolio Manager - HI Growth, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping, delivering, and continuously improving the Health Insurance portfolio. Partnering closely with the Head of Portfolio Management – HI Growth, you’ll ensure the portfolio aligns with Bupa’s Savannah strategy and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets. This role is critical in providing the Enterprise Delivery Office (EDO) with deep insights into portfolio and initiative status, enabling proactive identification and resolution of delivery constraints such as resource limitations, change impacts, and deviations from enterprise-wide objectives.

Working alongside program leads and key initiative teams, you will bring strategic direction, expert guidance, and robust governance to drive seamless delivery. Success in this role requires systems thinking, commercial acumen, and the ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable outcomes. With a strong focus on value creation, innovation, and continuous improvement, you’ll champion benefits realisation and ensure the portfolio delivers measurable impact for Bupa’s customers and business.

How will I help?

  • Support the development and ongoing refinement of the Health Insurance portfolio roadmap, ensuring alignment with Bupa’s Savannah strategy and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable portfolio initiatives, sequencing delivery to maximise value and impact.
  • Provide advice and guidance to program and initiative teams on structuring and delivery, ensuring adherence to EDO standards and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Operations, Finance & Systems teams to enable accurate reporting, performance management, and resource optimisation.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, prepare monthly reviews, and contribute to action plans that address risks, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Champion benefits realisation by supporting measurement, reporting, and optimisation of value creation across the portfolio.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment, remove barriers, and enable delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Proactively identify and manage resources, risks, and dependencies across the portfolio, coordinating remediation plans where needed.
  • Embed governance and compliance with EDO standards, preparing clear and transparent portfolio reports for executive leadership.
  • Promote continuous improvement and capability uplift by sharing expertise in agile, lean, financial rigour, and strategic problem-solving.

What do I need?

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in portfolio management and strategic delivery within complex, matrixed organisations. A proven ability to plan and deliver initiatives with measurable benefits is essential, along with exceptional capability to influence at the executive level, negotiate effectively, and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across diverse business units. Demonstrated expertise in portfolio governance, benefits realisation, and performance uplift programs is critical, together with a strong understanding of risk, compliance, and regulatory frameworks. The ability to manage complex resource and dependency landscapes, while driving outcomes in dynamic, high-pressure environments, is key.

Strong commercial acumen and advanced analytical skills are required to translate enterprise strategy into actionable portfolio roadmaps and prioritise initiatives for maximum value. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field is required, and experience in coaching and uplifting capability across senior leaders and cross-functional teams is highly valued. Proficiency in portfolio and project management tools and collaboration platforms is expected.
