The Opportunity
We have an opening for a Senior Risk and Control Business Partner position within our Risk and Compliance APAC team. You'll play a key role in supporting the delivery and implementation of the risk management framework across the Business Services teams. As part of the second line (2LoD), you'll partner with the business to support the application of risk and compliance policy frameworks; facilitating risk and control assessment activity; supporting incident and issue management processes; supporting risk in change and driving a risk aware and engaged culture.
Reporting to the Head of Risk Functions APAC, this permanent position is offered as hybrid with flexible working and may be based from Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute as a member of the 2LoD Risk Functions team, together with your stakeholders, to implement the risk management framework by:
- Engaging and connecting with business leaders to develop, build and maintain knowledge of business objectives, strategy and commercial challenges.
- Partnering with business leaders in the identification, assessment and management of risks and development of controls.
- Equipping business management in understanding and monitoring the business risk profile, the status of control environment and in the management of issues and incidents.
- Ensuring that risk, governance, clinical, quality, health & safety, compliance and Bupa policy requirements are understood, and processes established to meet requirements of Bupa A&NZ policies and frameworks.
- Providing guidance and support for risk management initiatives, training, policy reviews and the use and deployment of risk systems and processes to facilitate risk management activities.

What do I need?
We are looking for a senior risk professional with at least 2-3 years of recent experience in a senior risk role, backed by extensive prior experience in 2LoD. You should have a proven track record of managing and delivering a variety of risk programs for your stakeholders.
In addition, you’ll bring to the role:
- Strong history in stakeholder management and influencing, including senior executives, with a high-level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced practical risk management expertise, knowledgeable of controls and reviewing effectiveness, with demonstrable record of success and deep experience working in a heavily regulated setting such as insurance or healthcare.
- A high level of financial and commercial capability, with proven experience in applying financial and operational performance frameworks to drive successful business outcomes and contractual obligations.
- Previous experience managing risk for business / corporate functions would be highly regarded.
- Appropriate Tertiary qualifications and professional relevant membership.
