Senior Workplace Relations Specialist

The opportunity
We have a great opportunity for a Senior Workplace Relations Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This role is pivotal in delivering expert guidance and support across a broad range of workplace relations matters at Bupa. This involves providing advice, delivering education, dispute resolution, supporting bargaining and wider Workplace Relations projects and initiatives.
To be successful, you will be a critical and analytical thinker who is able to operationalise Workplace Relations strategy, policy and governance frameworks, whilst also managing stakeholder relationships internal and external to Bupa.
This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney with hybrid work arrangements available.
How will you make an impact?
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist the Head of Industrial Relations & Policy in executing a strategic and consistent Workplace Relations and compliance approach across the business.
- Interpret and apply industrial instruments, legislation, and company policies.
- Implement changes necessitated by law reforms, Award, and enterprise agreement updates.
- Support enterprise bargaining and change management processes.
- Engage in maintenance of internal resource libraries relevant to workplace relations.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting, and supporting, guiding, coaching, and advising on all matters related to workplace relations.
- Working constructively with business leaders and union officials, support the resolution of industrial matters.
- Engage appropriately in industrial matters and provide advice and guidance to People Directors, People Partners and business leaders.
- Assist in growing capability across the business in workplace relations via planning, co-ordinating, and delivering workshops, seminars, and other structured learning and development activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and best practice in workplace relations.
- Contribute to strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

What do I need?
- Tertiary graduate or post-graduate degree in Law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations/Workplace Relations or related degree.
- Proven capability in Workplace Relations, contributing to both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.
- Experience in improving the capability of others in resolving workplace relations issues.
- Able to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior leaders, technical and functional specialists, business facing People-team Heads of and Partners, operational and line managers.
- Proven ability to convert information and data into knowledge, and to communicate that knowledge in a meaningful and useful way.
- Ability to manage and prioritise competing demands with a client-focussed and outcomes-centred approach.
