We are building a new team within Engineering Excellence, and there are opportunities available for Software Engineers at entry to senior levels. These are dynamic roles focused on building the software foundations in engineering, working within a cross-functional environment.

From a technical perspective, we are seeking candidates with experience inmultiple languages, with a lot of our work focussed around .net core and web APIs.

Opportunity snapshot: 

  • Responsible for analysis, design, coding, and testing activities, with an expectation to contribute to implementation efforts.
  • As an integral part of a cross-functional team, you will deliver high-quality applications built using multiple technologies including .net corethat enable our teams to become more effective at delivering solutions for our customers.

Your Contribution:

  • Implement solutions to deliver business requirements with high quality uplifting and maintaining a suite of platforms and products supporting Bupa’s product offerings. 
  • Conduct analysis to determine effective technology implementations that align with Bupa’s Technology Strategy.
  • Collaborate with other IT functions to address business unit needs that support the day-to-day operations of existing applications and systems.
  • Extend and enhance existing code libraries, patterns, and architectural techniques.
  • Participate in identifying process and system improvements within CTAO and across Bupa more broadly.
  • Actively collaborate with and support team members in completing their tasks, including mentoring, training, and occasionally leading development activities.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies for changes to applications related to business projects or enhancements, providing high-level estimates.
  • Engage in system analysis, solution and technical design activities, delivering high-quality documentation and accurate work estimates with support from the Engineering Excellence Managerandteammates.
  • Ensure technical designs comply with application architectural principles. Participate in manual and automated testing to meet unit test coverage, ensuring artefacts are in place to satisfy audit and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all application deliverables meet the quality standards defined by the Quality Assurance team.

Qualifications, training & Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience leading projects or programs of work from a technical perspective, or some demonstrated experience mentoring other developers within squads. 
  • At least 5 years of experience building products using some or many of these technologies:
  • .NET web apps and API apps
  • Microsoft Azure (App Services, AKS, Containers, no-sql/sql database as a service, Redis Cache, etc) 
  • Sitecore 10+ 
  • React, Angular, Vue, other JS frameworks. 
  • Mobile technologies including Xamarin (not Forms), Kotlin, Swift in an enterprise environment. 
  • Testing frameworks and adjacent technologies including Jest, xUnit, Cypress, Swagger, etc  
  • CI/CD systems, particularly Azure Dev Ops or Github/Github Actions 
  • Application lifecycle/documentation tools including Confluence, Azure DevOps boards, Jira, etc. 
  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment. 
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment. 
  • Desire to work in a digital systems environment. 
  • Experience developing with the Azure cloud platform. 
  • Development experience in multi-tier architectures, automation testing frameworks including BDD testing approaches and high-velocity engineering approaches. 
  • Ability to function as a thought provoker as well as an individual contributor. 
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills to technical and non-technical audiences.
