Strategic Campus Lead APAC

The opportunity
We are on the lookout for a Strategic Campus Lead to join our team in Melbourne to help set up and drive a new and exciting global learning initiative.
Bupa Campus is a new strategic learning initiative and will be a key enabler of future capabilities; leadership effectiveness; creating a sense of pride and belonging; and our unique and customer centric culture.
In this role, you will be responsible for enabling an outstanding learner experience (both onsite & digital), as well as the strategic and operational effectiveness of the APAC Bupa Campus. Working as part of a global team, and leading a local APAC team, this role will take accountability for the day-to-day operational running of the APAC Campus, ensuring a world-class learner experience both in person, and online and maximising the utilisation of the facilities, in line with budgets and demand.
To be successful, you will have previous experience in the operational management of a facility, team or function, with a passion for delivering world-class learning experiences and operational effectiveness.
This is a permanent role based in Melbourne with hybrid working arrangements available.
How will you make an impact?
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading & supporting the onsite team to ensure that the Campus is equipped for an exceptional on-site and hybrid learning experience, managing and planning events and facilities
- Lead the Campus Team to ensure smooth operational delivery of key services such as catering and room set up, striving for optimal value and meeting the expectations of modern learners
- Partner closely with the Group Campus Team to align to overall Campus Strategy and ensure global programs are delivered to a high standard in the APAC Campus.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to consistently deliver best practices in operations, fostering innovation and a continuous drive for improvement, via feedback surveys & reviews
- Develop a local Campus Growth Strategy that considers and maximises the physical campus capacity and anticipates future demand
- Engaging/supporting senior stakeholders including providing visibility of Campus metrics and outcomes.
- Accountable for the overall learner experience at the Campus, guaranteeing that each aspect aligns with the strategy to offer a top-tier, prestigious learning environment and offering
- Assist APAC Campus Team with hands-on support for large scale events or periods of high delivery as required (e.g. Participant welcome & check-in, catering set-up & pack down, room set up)
- Manage the scheduling and planning of local events, establishing well-defined processes, quality assurance, and effective risk management
- Regularly review & update, or create new Campus standards and procedures across services, aligned to the vision of Campus strategy
- Creation, tracking & maintenance of local budgets, implementing cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency

What do I need?
- Previous experience in a similar role or function.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record in leading event or learning operations, in a learning academy, university or hospitality environment preferable
- Experience working in an operational management role with financial and commercial accountability
- Ability to oversee and manage many details related to all aspects of the operation. Be able to make quick decisions to rectify issues in a fast-paced environment
- Experience at influencing at all levels throughout an organisation, building and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders from Senior Leaders, learners, suppliers and team members
- Understanding of learning operations, learner experience and processes aligned to this
- Knowledge of Learning Experience technologies
- Hands-on approach, team player who supports the team in the delivery of large scale, high volume events as required.
