About the Home: Our delightful and modern care home is situated in the green, leafy suburb of St Ives on the Upper North Shore of Sydney. Conveniently positioned on Mona Vale road the home is a central location to connect with the Northern Beaches, Wahroonga and Sydney CBD. It consists of 98 beds, with a variety of care units. About The Role: As a Maintenance Officer you will be responsible for the delivery of a high standard of property services, including repairs and maintenance, to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for our residents. This is a permanent full-time position. Sponsorship is not available at this stage; only candidates with full working rights are encouraged to apply.

Duties

Provide repairs and maintenance support to the care home across a wide scope of activities including: 

  • Identify and carry out preventative maintenance, repair and improvement works to the building, grounds and equipment in-line with the Maintenance Schedules
  • Ensure the physical environment for residents is in line with their preferences and is neat, comfortable, safe and hazard free
  • Landscaping and garden maintenance; general repairs and waste removal
  • Oversee, maintain, assess and provide recommendations on replacement of assets if, and as required
  • Assist in the management of Property Services projects
  • Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety and Property Services Quality Assurance procedures

Skills and Experience

  • Formal qualifications; and/or Relevant skills training or experience
  • Experience in Property Maintenance and Building Works
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Occupational Health and Safety
  • The ability to solve problems independently
