About the Role:
As a Nurse Coordinator (locum Relief) with Bupa ADF Health Services you will provide backfill support to the health centres across Australia in order to maintain Health Centre operations during periods of planned leave.
This is a fantastic opportunity for nurses with leadership skills to stretch into a Nursing Coordinator role, growing your skillset with experience across a variety of Health centres and clinics as well as developing your expertise with changing patient cohorts and clinical environments.
You will balance regular travel (around block assignments) with time based in your home location either supporting local health centres with short-term leave requirements or the ADF Health Services more broadly with clinical support in quality and governance.
While based in one of our Health Centres as a Nurse Coordinator you will:
- Supporting operational capability by preparing members for global employability/deployment and exercises
- Coordinating and participating in vaccination parades, sick parade, triage of members within a Primary Health Care Team model, Staff development, Performance appraisals
- Overseeing and facilitating complex situations including clinical, managerial, and educational contexts e.g. assistance with emergency medical responses, clinical review, and complaint resolution
- Investigation of clinical incidents to include review and corrective actions in conjunction with health centre management
- Review and update of department SOPs
- Assist in coordinating roster, staffing levels and supervision of the Ward nursing and Defence Force staff, to enable the provision of high standard of health care
- Oversight of department rosters and coordination of staff allocation
About you:

You will:
- be an adept relationship-builder with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to provide regular coaching and feedback to your team
- be a proven leader who is resilient and adaptable to changing healthcare environments
- show an innate ability to connect processes, systems and people with the big picture while making sure all the detail is in place
- leadership and management experience is essential – you may have been acting in a team leader or 2IC role and are ready to make the move permanently or you might be wanting to further develop your leadership skills with a global health leader
You will also:
- Be an Australian Citizen
- Have at least 5 years’ experience as a Div 1 RN
- Have full AHPRA registration
- Previous Defence experience will be highly regarded
- Proficient in computer operation systems in healthcare as ADF uses multiple platforms for electronic healthcare records
- Ideally possess post Graduate Qualifications in Nursing or Health Management or working toward same.
