We're currently seeking a dedicated and operationally focused Team Leader, Claims Processing to join our high-performing team in Adelaide. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for someone passionate about people management, operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of 15 to 20 staff, driving a performance culture that is both customer-centric and aligned with our business objectives. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations, workforce planning, performance management, and coaching, while also playing a key role in delivering strategic initiatives and continuous improvement across the function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support your team to meet and exceed individual and team KPIs through structured coaching, mentoring, and performance management
  • Foster a positive team culture focused on first-call resolution, customer satisfaction, and compliance
  • Manage workflow queues and resourcing to meet service level agreements and business requirements
  • Identify process inefficiencies and drive data-informed solutions for operational improvements and automation
  • Provide clear direction, feedback, and development opportunities to build capability and engagement within your team
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as Quality, Compliance, Process Design, and external stakeholders including providers and government bodies
  • Analyse data and reporting to identify performance trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making and ensure alignment with Bupa's values and regulatory obligations

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience leading large operational teams in complex environments—preferably within health insurance, financial services, or banking
  • Demonstrated ability to drive high performance through effective coaching and leadership
  • Strong understanding of operational management, including resource planning, performance tracking, and workflow optimisation
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
  • Experience in navigating regulatory and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, both internal and external
