The Opportunity:

The Growth Workstream Lead is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of health insurance growth initiatives run through the Hub process. The role will lead the initiative governance and workstream systems, partnering closely with Initiative Owners (IOs) to track delivery milestones, manage initiative budgets, surface risks, and ensure senior leaders have clear visibility of progress, issues, and areas requiring executive support.

What You’ll Be Doing

Here's what you can look forward to in this role:

  • End-to-end manage our Growth Initiatives’ ‘Hub Initiative’ obligations – including tracking progress vs. milestones and budget, seeking finance and leadership approvals, supporting business casing, flagging key risks for decisioning
  • Represent and advocate for HI Growth initiatives in Bupa’s resource prioritisation process (QPASS) 
  • Ensure consistent and disciplined governance is applied across all growth initiatives.
  • Maintain the initiative register, track dependencies, and flag at-risk initiatives early. Initiative Owner (IO) Support & Partnership 
  • Work closely with IOs to monitor initiative progress against key milestones and success metrics.
  • Proactively support IOs to identify delivery risks and mitigation strategies. 
  • Provide guidance to IOs to ensure adherence to budget, delivery expectations, and operating cadence. 
  • Prepare initiative performance packs and regular updates for senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Translate complex delivery updates into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain visibility of initiative interdependencies and support leadership decision-making.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about helping others and thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.

To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in project delivery, governance, or portfolio management within a complex corporate environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, project management, or a related field (e.g., commerce, engineering, IT). 
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex projects or programs in a corporate or government environment. 
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in similar roles 
  • Senior stakeholder engagement & influence – Proven ability to negotiate, broker trade-offs, and achieve alignment across executives, peers, and cross-functional teams. 
  • The ability to influence peers and leaders and broker strategic trade offs
  • Strategic communication – Ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to senior leaders and diverse audiences.
  • Decision-making under ambiguity – Skilled in weighing competing priorities and making pragmatic, risk aware recommendations. 
  • Project governance & control – Strong understanding of governance frameworks, risk management, and compliance in Australian business contexts. 
  • Change management – Ability to support and influence adoption of new processes, systems, or strategies.
  • Negotiation & conflict resolution – Skilled in finding mutually beneficial solutions in high-stakes or competing-priority situations.
  • Commercial acumen – Understanding of business drivers, budget management, and return on investment in a project context.
