The purpose of this job is:


The Head of FP&A, Health Insurance is accountable for supporting the Finance Director and HI Leadership team in the development and execution of our strategy and to provide financial intelligence and key commercial insights to drive the achievement of targets and key priorities. 

To be successful in this role, you will need to bring outstanding commercial acumen and financial analytical capabilities and be an integral and impactful leader with a strong ability to engage and influence key stakeholders, shape strategic imperatives, deliver results and build a culture of high performance.


How will you help? 


  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support executive decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Partner with business leaders to drive accountability for financial and operational results.
  • Develop financial models to evaluate growth opportunities, investments, and strategic initiatives.
  • Deliver clear and impactful management reporting and performance dashboards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning, reporting, and forecasting processes.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the FP&A team and give coaching to the broader team and peers to uplift capability, build talent and succession bench strength.
  • Ensure financial planning activities align with regulatory, governance, and healthcare industry requirements.
  • Support a strong risk culture and management of key risks. At all times, maintain high ethical standards in processes and internal control environment, ensuring compliance with all directives, Delegation of Authority and timely/sustained remediation of any internal audit findings, as applicable.
  • Ensure that Bupa Australia’s Health & Safety policy and associated policies and procedures are effectively implemented to minimize risk and to provide employees with a safe working environment 


What you’ll need to make it possible:


You are a degree qualified finance professional with a CA, CPA or CFA qualification and extensive experience in finance leadership roles. 

You will have Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) experience, combined with excellent financial and analytical capability as well as a developed commercial mindset. Your ability to interpret financial and operational performance, identify key business drivers, and provide meaningful insights will support strategic decision making across the business.

A curious approach to problem solving is important, with the ability to look beyond the numbers, challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve business performance. Experience driving efficiencies, optimising financial and business processes in complex and evolving environments will be highly valued.

You will bring proven experience partnering with senior and executive stakeholders, influencing decisions and building alignment around key strategic priorities. The ability to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities and provide practical solutions to complex commercial issues is essential.

Strong leadership capability is required, including providing clear direction and driving high-performance culture to deliver results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, together with the ability to prepare and present clear reports, recommendations and presentations, will enable success in this role.
