Legal Adviser – Employment & Litigation

The opportunity
We have a great opportunity for a Legal Adviser to join Bupa on a 12-month fixed term contract.
In this role, you will be responsible for the provision of legal advice and legal work across Employment and Litigation.

This is a Melbourne based role with hybrid working arrangements.
How will you make an impact?
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the Legal Manager in ensuring the provision of the highest quality, reliable and comprehensive legal advice to the leadership and executive teams.
- Providing legal advice on general employment law matters, industrial/workplace relations, workplace health and safety and compliance.
- Supporting and managing litigious matters.
- Providing regular updates on the latest developments in employment-related legislation and regulation to ensure that all activities comply with laws.
- Providing legal advice across APAC on the interpretation of industrial instruments.
- Delivering training on areas of law.
- Providing advice and managing commercial disputes and claims.
- Developing relationships and collaborating with Bupa APAC, Bupa Global legal team and various business stakeholders.

What do I need?
- Minimum 4+ years relevant post admission experience in-house or in private practice
- Law degree from an Australian or international university
- A current relevant practising certificate in a state Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia
- Experience advising on employment law and regulation
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial acumen with the ability to provide pragmatic legal advice
