We have an exciting 12-month fixed term opportunity for a Senior Data & Insights Analyst based in Melbourne.
As a Senior Data & Insights Analyst, you’ll lead the generation of customer, commercial, and product insights through the application of data and analytics. Your work will directly support the development of customer and go-to-market strategies, helping us better understand our members and drive meaningful business outcomes.

What’s your role?
This role is ideal for someone with Python/SQL skills and a strategic mindset. A background in Marketing or Strategy, with the ability to use your technical skills to extrapolate and interpret data, connecting the dots and clearly communicating insights to stakeholders. You'll be embedded in the business, leading projects and translating complex data into meaningful narratives that support decision-making across the organisation.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strategic thinker with a business-first mindset
- Experience leading projects and working closely with business teams
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Experience with tools such as SQL, SAS, Python, and Databricks (we are currently transitioning from SAS to Databricks)

What will I be doing?
- Develop insights and recommendations by undertaking data sourcing, data preparation, analysis design, and visualisation to support product development, go-to-market plans, and customer experience strategies
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their commercial imperatives and translate them into data-driven approaches
- Be commercially minded, reinforcing a commercial, strategic, and data-driven mindset within Domestic Retail Portfolio, International and Corporate Portfolio, and Delivery Hub teams
- Be supportive and proactive in strengthening the technical capabilities of the analytics/performance function
- Deepen understanding of the Health Insurance industry and stay up to date with relevant industry trends, market changes, competitive movements, and regulatory developments
What will I bring?
- 5+ years' experience in a data and analytics related role
- Experienced in leading programs of work and mentoring others
- Experience in Health Insurance will be highly regarded
- Tertiary qualification in analytics, science, business/economics, computer science, or related discipline
- Programming experience in SQL (required), R, Python, and/or SAS
- Experience with Data Bricks, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Lake will be highly regarded
- Possess strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly (spoken and written) and influence stakeholders
