The Senior Finance Analyst plays a key role in delivering comprehensive financial analysis, commercial modelling, business partnering and financial support across the business. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with customer-centric areas of the business, understanding key drivers and translating results into meaningful insights. You will deliver strategic initiatives and impactful outcomes.
The successful candidate will work alongside team members to lead and coordinate the 3-Year Plan (3YP), forecasting, and delivery of the weekly, monthly and ad-hoc financial reporting. The role will also support financial modelling and perform monthly variance analysis against plan, providing insightful commentary and commercial guidance to inform business decisions.
How will I help?
- Month-end including project reporting and forecasts, month-end close processes, delivering P&L reporting, dashboards, commentary, and other monthly requirements for the business.
- Variance analysis and review of month-end results, providing analysis and explanations for variances.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for the business area, covering the 3-Year Plan (3YP) and BEF submissions.
- Partner and collaborate with operations teams to develop an annual business area P&L for review by the Finance team.
- Support on business case modelling for new proposals and projects.
- Conduct adhoc market analysis and benchmark commercial performance against key competitors to inform strategic direction.
- Drive efficiencies, streamline forecasting and budgeting processes, and automate reporting, focusing on continuous improvement and increased efficiency.
- Identify and lead cost-reduction initiatives to enhance cost efficiency across the business area.
- Building productive relationships with stakeholders, including
highlyseniorprojectsponsors, stakeholders to facilitate successful project outcomes. - Assist with the rollout of enterprise wide PowerBI reporting capabilities.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to team members and peers to develop the capability of our people across Finance and the business.
What do I need?
To be successful in this role you will need to be a highly effective communicator, have strong financial analytical capabilities, commercial acumen and have high attention to detail. You will be able to build positive relationships with and influence all levels of stakeholders, including senior leadership. You will also require:
- 5+ years’ experience in a finance/commercial analyst role
- CA or CPA qualified
- Experience developing commercial proposals, tenders, financial models and business cases
- Strong technical experience with complex financial modelling, communicating financial concepts simply and succinctly to non-finance colleagues
- Confident and effective at presenting results to stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills (Advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL) and experience using a range of financial operations systems
- Ability to juggle and manage competing deadlines alongside BAU
