Role Overview:

Join a fully formed API development team building the future foundations of Bupa’s mobile and web strategy

In this team you will be an integral part of a new Digital .NET API team created to build the APIs needed to achieve Bupa’s strategic goals.

You will bring the expertise and knowledge across, coding, analysis, and design to build new APIs, while also supporting our existing .Net APIs, applications & environments. Contributing to the design of end-to-end solutions and providing feedback on others solution design(s) to ensure they meet operation needs.

You will be working closely with the mobile, web, support and environment teams to deliver effective solutions.

What you will be doing:

  • Code! You will be in the code every day developing APIs that meet the intention of the Technical specification, using your judgement, experience and communication skills to achieve and exceed the desired outcomes.
  • Actively collaborate with and assist other members of the .NET teams in successfully completing their activities including some level of mentoring and training and at times leading development activities.
  • Work collaboratively across our technology and product teams to understand and solve for our Business needs.
  • Undertake assessment and estimation of changes to .NET-related applications for proposed product and API enhancements. 
  • Conduct system analysis, solution and technical design activities with high-quality documentation and realistic work estimates as the end-deliverables.
  • Lead  in identifying process and system improvements for the API team and, more specifically, in the .NET domain.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring manual and automated test activities are completed with proper unit test coverage.
  • Ensure that all of your deliverables meet and exceed the quality standards of Bupa.

Your Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated depth of experience in C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, MVC, Web Services, Web APIs.
  • At least 6 years of experience in .NET Technologies and preferably REST APIs
  • At least 2 years experience with Azure cloud platform
  • Typically require a tertiary qualification in an IT discipline
  • Relevant tertiary qualification at degree level 
  • Desire to work in a digital systems environment.
  • Ability to function as a thought leader as well as an individual contributor
