We are recruiting for 2 roles:

  • Associate Software Engineer: Looking for candidates with startup engineering experience.
  • Mid-Level Software Engineer: Candidates should have 2-3 years of professional working experience.

Both roles are full-time and offer a flexible work location.

Opportunity Snapshot:

The role will be responsible for developing key cross-cutting applications and platforms that enable product teams to move more quickly and effectively towards daily and weekly releases in line with our Technology Strategy. This role will involve working closely with other teams within CTAO and more broadly, including architecture, support, and environment teams to develop new and enhance existing systems. The role will include contributing to requirement analysis, solution design, code development, unit testing and implementation of highly maintainable and scalable solutions. You will work within cross-functional teams to deliver high quality applications using a range of technologies mostly on Azure cloud platform utilising industry standard software development best practices, and set the standard for others in Technology to utilise when developing software.

Your Contribution:

  • Implement .Net solutions to successfully deliver business requirements with high quality. 
  • Uplift and maintain a suite of platforms and products used to deliver Bupa’s product suite.  Conduct analysis to determine effective technology implementations that make a meaningful difference to Bupa’s ability to deliver on the Technology Strategy. 

  • Work collaboratively with the other IT functions in responding to Business unit requirements that underpin the day-to-day activities of existing applications and associated systems. 
  • Contribute to extending and improving existing code libraries, patterns and architectural techniques. 
  • Participate in identifying process and system improvements within CTAO and more broadly in Bupa. 
  • Actively collaborate with and assist other members of the team in successfully completing their activities including some level of mentoring and training and at times leading development activities. 
  • Contribute to feasibility studies of changes to applications for proposed business projects / enhancements to provide high-level sizing. 
  • Contribute to system analysis, solution and technical design activities. 
  • Ensure that proposed technical design complies with the application architectural principles.  Undertake manual and automated test activities as per agreed unit test coverage and ensure that artefacts are available to satisfy any audit compliance. 
  • Ensure that application deliverables comply with the quality requirements defined by the Quality Assurance area. 
  • Keep abreast of industry ‘best practice’ methods in application development. 
  • You may also carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Bupa from time to time.

Qualifications and training 

  • At least 2 years of experience building products using some or many of these technologies: 
    1. .NET web apps and API apps o Microsoft Azure (App Services, AKS, Containers, no-sql/sql     
    2. database as a services, Redis Cache, etc) 
    3. Sitecore 10+ o React, Angular, Vue, other JS frameworks o Mobile technologies including Xamarin (not Forms), Kotlin, Swift in an enterprise environment. 
    4. Testing frameworks and adjacent technologies including Jest, xUnit, Cypress, Swagger, etc 
    5. CI/CD systems, particularly Azure Dev Ops or Github/Github Actions 
    6. Application lifecycle/documentation tools including Confluence, Azure DevOps boards, Jira, etc.  Success in contributing to a team-oriented environment. 
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment. 
  • Experience developing with the Azure cloud platform or other cloud platforms. 
  • Development experience in multi-tier architectures, automation testing frameworks including BDD testing approaches and high-velocity engineering approaches. 
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Great oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills to technical and non-technical audiences.
