About the Role
As a Gardener at one of our care homes, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds to provide a comfortable and safe environment for our residents.
This is a part-time role at 37 hours a fortnight
Duties
- Mowing of lawns, maintenance of garden beds, trimming of hedges and foliage
- Planting out and replacing as needed
- Weeding, mulching and pruning
- Fertilising, controlling pests and diseases
- Compliance with all relevant WHS procedures
Skills and Experience
- Certificate II or III in Horticulture highly regarded but not essential
- At least 2 – 3 years previous experience
- Understanding of plants, pest management and chemical handling
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience gained in a similar role
- The ability to solve problems independently
- An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
