The purpose of the Front Office Coordinator role is to lead and support the front office team through coaching and guidance, while also being the friendly first point of contact for our customers. 

This exciting role is perfect for an individual who wishes to have an incredible career and derive personal satisfaction from “Helping People Get Healthier and Happier”.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, this role also includes chairside assisting and supporting clinical operations, making it ideal for someone who thrives both at the front desk and in the surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • Support our Practice Manager with highly responsible people-oriented tasks
  • Lead by example offering Exceptional Customer Service for every patient
  • Appointment setting, understanding dental services we offer, billing, receipting and health fund claiming
  • Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional way
  • Independently handle patient inquiries, both in person and over the phone, providing accurate information and addressing concerns
  • Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a smooth workflow and optimal patient experience
  • Must be willing and able to work chairside and assist with sterilisation and reprocessing of equipment
  • Training Junior staff members in clinical and reception duties

What you’ll need to make it possible:

  • Solid experience in the dental industry (leadership experience desirable) 
  • Highly motivated with proven dental background
  • Able to work independently in a large, fast‑paced team
  • Mature, reliable and self‑motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Enjoys learning new skills and growing professionally and personally
  • Well‑presented, punctual, and highly reliable
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Exceptional customer service delivery
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Minimum 12 months dental experience (Cert III highly regarded but not essential)
  • Strong organisational and multitasking ability
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident across general dental procedures
  • Experience with general dental reception tasks, including HICAPS
  • Natural leadership qualities to motivate staff and contribute positively to culture
