 What’s your role? 

The Product Manager – Data and AI is a strategic leadership role within Bupa’s Clinical Innovation team, responsible for shaping the strategy, development, and evolution of digital health, data and AI products that provide an improved experience to the Bupa’s clinicians and customers. This role delivers thought leadership to strengthen Bupa’s Product Craft capability, ensuring consistent excellence in digital health, data and AI product development.

This is a permanent full-time position based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the data and AI product vision and strategy aligned with Bupa’s goal to be the world’s most customer-centric healthcare company using Responsible AI practices.
  • Collaborate early to design business models, set value metrics, and apply data-driven insights to measure impact.
  • Translate strategy into a prioritised roadmap, leading a digital health product mission team and fostering a data driven culture.
  • Partner with stakeholders across multiple teams to influence decisions and deliver customer focused solutions.
  • Embed customer feedback and insights into product evolution, ensuring value and portfolio alignment.
  • Lead and develop Digital Product Managers and Product Owners, building high performing, collaborative teams.
  • Challenge assumptions, recommend best practices, and champion systems thinking approaches to improve outcomes.
  • Support the Clinical Lead (Data and AI) to uplift digital health, AI and data product as a craft and establish consistent best practices.

What you will bring to the role

  • Experience as a Digital Product Manager in an Agile delivery environment, including backlog creation, prioritisation, and understanding of Scrum (SAFe knowledge a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of Lean product and customer development, with experience forming a product vision and translating it into a roadmap and backlog.
  • Experience in healthcare and healthcare technologies, integrating multiple platforms to create customer and operational synergies.
  • Ability to communicate, facilitate, collaborate, and lead effectively, with proven influence across all organisational levels.
  • Appreciation for Human-Centred Design and experience working across multiple streams in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Analytical mindset with understanding of data analysis, commercial drivers, business viability, and technical feasibility.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Lean, and HCD approaches, and use of digital tools and frameworks to support vision, roadmaps, analysis, and reporting.
  • Product craft leadership experience and a tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
