A full time, permanent opportunity has arisen for a talented Growth and Category Manager to join our Bupa Optical & Hearing team. 

Reporting to General Manager Product, Strategy & Commercial you will lead the strategic thinking, planning & end to end project delivery around our go to market and growth activities across all growth opportunities focusing on Partnership, B2B Sales, existing and new product launches. You will have a growth-oriented mindset and be accountable for the overall performance and growth of lens and contact lens categories.

This is a hybrid role, and you are welcome to work from home or our Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane CBD office locations. 

What will your day look like:

  • Strategy & Business Development 
  • New Customer Acquisition 
  • Account Management 
  • Category Sales & Margin Performance 
  • Market and customer insights driving pricing strategy 
  • Technical skills and capability uplift within the category, including processes 
  • Vendor partnership and management 
  • Strategic Project delivery 

You may also carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Bupa from time to time.

What do I need?

  • 5+ years’ experience within category management and business development; experience within the Optical industry with be highly regarded. 
  • Advanced financial and vendor management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery of new ideas and innovation to drive sales and customer satisfaction
  • Proven experience of delivering positive commercial outcomes within a large business environment
  • Advance understanding of retail fundamentals (marketing, supply chain, operations and merchandising)
  • Advance project management skills
  • A proven track record in achieving sales and profit KPIs
  • A motivating, leading, & hands on approach
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel in particular
  • Demonstrable use of data to drive decision making and deliver results
