Our role Purpose

The Partnership Manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of Bupa Health Insurance partner relationships. The role supports Corporate, International and Affiliate partners and works with internal teams to identify health insurance, health and wellbeing or health services opportunities that are relevant to the partner and their customers.

The role reports to the Head of Major Account Partnerships, Head of Core Account Partnerships or Head of Small to Medium Enterprise Partnerships. It is accountable for agreed portfolio outcomes through account planning, partner engagement, renewal and retention activity, commercial support, service governance and regular performance review. The role also manages day-to-day partner issues and uses customer, commercial and operational insight to identify risks and opportunities early.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Deliver agreed portfolio targets, including sales, new-to-fund growth, revenue, retention, gross margin, customer experience, partner engagement and service performance.
  • Manage a portfolio of major, core or SME partner accounts across Affiliate, Corporate and International channels, including universities, employers, brokers, agents, membership organisations, affinity partners and strategic alliances.
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders to align partner priorities, manage competing objectives and agree practical actions.
  • Develop and maintain account and partnership plans, including annual activity plans, performance reviews, opportunity pipelines, issue logs and agreed measures of success.
  • Support renewals, retention, contracting, commissions, offers and partner investment decisions with clear evidence, agreed approvals and practical recommendations.
  • Represent Bupa in partner meetings, performance reviews and governance discussions, ensuring commitments, risks, decisions and actions are documented and followed through.
  • Work with product, operations, customer service, risk, finance, legal, technology, marketing, go-to-market and enablement teams to resolve dependencies and support partner outcomes.
  • Manage partner service levels, customer feedback, commitments, commissions, offers, issue resolution and agreed remediation activity.
  • Use customer, partner, market, financial and operational insights to identify risks, constraints and growth opportunities.
  • Promote Bupa as a trusted health and care partner for employees, students, workers and visitors, linking Health Insurance, Health and Wellbeing and Health Services propositions where relevant.
  • Keep sales, CRM and governance records accurate and current, including portfolio performance, partner commitments, risks, actions and decisions.
  • Maintain effective controls for partner commitments, commissions, offers, service delivery, risks, issues, incidents, complaints, information security and regulatory obligations.

What you’ll need to make it possible

  • Experience in account management, partnerships, channel management, distribution or business-to business relationship management, ideally in private health insurance, corporate health, international student or visitor health insurance, or related markets.
  • Experience managing a partner, account or channel portfolio with accountability for growth, retention, margin, customer outcomes, service quality and ongoing performance.
  • Commercial acumen, including experience supporting negotiations, renewals, account planning, partner governance, commissions and offers.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with senior internal stakeholders and external decision-makers in medium, large or strategic partner organisations.
  • Ability to solve problems and balance commercial, customer, operational, technology, risk and regulatory considerations.
  • Ability to work with appropriate autonomy, escalating material risks, decisions and trade-offs while delivering agreed account plans.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organisation and influencing across functions to deliver shared outcomes.
  • Ability to turn customer, commercial, operational and market data into clear insights, recommendations and actions.
  • Sound understanding of governance, controls and regulatory obligations relating to customer outcomes, complaints, incidents, partner commitments, commissions, offers, commercial conduct and information security.
  • Knowledge of corporate employers, brokers, universities, education providers, migration or visitor markets, affiliate distribution, private health insurance or adjacent health and wellbeing markets is desirable.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, marketing, management, health or a related discipline are desirable, or equivalent professional experience.
