About the Role | Data & Insights Analyst – Melbourne (Permanent)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data & Insights Analyst to join our Health Insurance team. In this role, you'll be at the intersection of data, strategy, and customer experience transforming data into strategic insights that shape our customer and go-to-market initiatives.

You’ll work with a high-calibre team of analysts, product leads, and business stakeholders who are passionate about solving complex problems and delivering customer value. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and love translating data into clear, actionable insight - we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Generate strategic customer, commercial, and product insights to support Health Insurance strategy and initiatives
  • Collaborate across business units to understand commercial goals and design data-led approaches to meet them
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and compelling data visualisations to communicate insights clearly and effectively
  • Take ownership of ad hoc analytics requests for the Domestic Retail Portfolio and other business functions
  • Actively contribute to uplifting the team’s analytical capabilities and foster a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement
  • Stay informed on health insurance industry developments, market trends, and regulatory changes

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years’ experience in a data and analytics role
  • Tertiary qualification in analytics, data science, business/economics, computer science, or related field
  • Proficient in SQL (essential), with additional experience in R, Python, or SAS considered an advantage
  • Strong hands-on experience with visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with the ability to craft presentations that convey clear narratives and key insights
  • Familiarity with modern data environments (e.g., Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake)
  • Commercial mindset with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate data into strategic insights
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a passion for continuous learning
  • Health insurance or financial services experience is highly regarded
