The role purpose.

We currently have a permanent opportunity for a Technology Application Owner to join our Optical and hearing team. Experience with Bupa’s core clinical platform Optomate Touch is highly desirable, or equivalent experience supporting medical record / practice management systems within a healthcare environment.You’ll be responsible for the comprehensive management, performance oversight and strategic guidance of designated business applications within their respective Service Line(s). This role ensures that applications are reliable, secure, and aligned with organisational goals while meeting the needs of end users, stakeholders, and Bupa customers. This role acts as the primary liaison the business unit/s, IT teams, and external vendors to oversee the application’s lifecycle from design and implementation to maintenance and continuous improvement. By driving efficiency, innovation, and compliance, the Technology Application Owner plays a key role in enabling seamless business operations and supporting technology initiatives.

What you’ll need to make it possible

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related discipline. (Software Engineering experience preferred)
  • 5+ years experience supporting and managing off-the-shelf enterprise applications. 
  • Strong experience in change, release and lifecycle management. 
  • Experience working directly with software vendors and managed service providers. 
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, cloud platforms, APIs and relational databases. 
  • Strong understanding of application support, monitoring and operational best practices. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • Experience with Bupa’s core clinical platform Optomate Touch is highly desirable, or equivalent experience supporting medical record / practice management systems within a healthcare environment.
