The Opportunity 

In this newly created role, the Third-Party Governance Manager will play a pivotal role in uplifting the end-to-end policy, risk and governance activities undertaken across Bupa’s third parties, APAC region.

Reporting to the Head of Third-Party Governance, you will work closely together to enable Bupa’s Third-Party Management Framework by implementing processes, a system and helping to establish a diverse team of specialists across analytics, systems, policy, risk, and governance to uplift third-party management capability. 

As a dynamic leader, you’ll empower 1-2 Analysts to reach their full potential, driving success through collaboration and innovation. This position will be part of Bupa’s Finance – Procurement division. A permanent, full-time position and may be based at our Sydney or Melbourne offices with flexible hybrid work arrangements available. 

Key responsibilities:

As a senior member of the Third-Party Governance team, you will work with the business owner for systems and processes to enable Third-Party Supplier Management, providing guidance and education on supplier policies, risk and governance activities.

In addition, this role will:

  • Manage supplier assessments for onboarding into Coupa.
  • Work closely with the risk and commercial procurement teams to gain better visibility and control over supplier risk and management through Coupa.
  • Manage and maintain appropriate systems and reporting, accurately reflecting the control environment across all aspects of third-party management and governance. 
  • Provide guidance to peers on internal and external risk factors responding to business needs in relation to management of third-party risk. 
  • Support monitoring and continuous improvement of Bupa’s third-party management processes, platform, and service to Bupa’s suppliers and internal customers.
  • Understand and respond to current and emerging risks across the third-party landscape.

What do I need?

The Third-Party Governance Manager will demonstrate sound commercial knowledge and have a natural ability to build a strong and trusting rapport with stakeholders, while maintaining a level of pace to prioritise and manage deliverables.

In addition, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in people leadership, developing and uplifting small teams. 
  • Deep experience in third-party supplier management and procurement risk gained in a large matrix organisation. 
  • Relationship management and consulting skills to collaborate, influence and negotiate while operating at a high level of integrity. This role may also present in steering committees to senior leaders.
  • An understanding of industry regulations (e.g., CPS 230, GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001) highly desirable
  • Previous third party/supplier management system experience and/or Coupa certification desirable, but not essential
  • Initiative-taker with continuous improvement and customer service mindset.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, accounting, law, risk management, or supply chain operations or similar discipline.
