Acknowledgement of Country and Traditional Owners

Bupa would like to acknowledge and show respect to the Traditional Custodians of Australian land. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise their cultural heritage, beliefs and continuing connection to land, waters and community. We thank you for your ongoing custodianship.

Bupa’s purpose is to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives, and make a better world.

Work at a global health and care organisation that respects culture and provides meaningful growth and career pathways for our First Nations communities. It is in line with our purpose to ensure that our First Nation team members get treated equally and have a fair shot at everything.

As one of Australia’s largest health providers, we are uniquely placed to support First Nations health outcomes at a strategic level and will partner with First Nations led health organisations to support their efforts to address health challenges in First Nations communities. We’re proud of our efforts to build an inclusive workplace where our values are promoted and celebrated.

Meet our First Nations Candidate Experience Team

Respect and candidate care is at the heart of everything that we do. Our goal is to respectfully share knowledge, amplify the voices of our community, and work in a manner that empowers individuals through honesty. As part of the recruitment process, we aim to provide a positive and respectful candidate experience that is culturally safe and supportive. From the moment you apply, we'll be with you to prepare you for your interview through to de-briefing following your interview. You'll be supported every step of the way.

Jennifer Jeffery

I am a proud Aboriginal woman from the Wiradjuri peoples. I grew up in a small country town in the central west of NSW where I was able to experience and learn a lot about my family and culture. I've worked for Bupa for several years now, starting in sales and customer service in 2021 and recently moving across into the talent team as a First Nations Candidate Experience Partner. My role has provided me the opportunity to assist in creating a meaningful and culturally safe journey throughout the recruitment process.

Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)

Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people enjoy equity and equality, and are living longer, healthier, happier lives as we work together to make a better world. To achieve this vision, we will couple our health and care expertise with a commitment to working with, and learning from, First Nations peoples, communities, and organisations. Our RAP focuses on four key areas where we believe we can make a meaningful contribution to reconciliation: First Nations health outcomes, Sustainable careers, Supplier diversity, and Cultural learning.
