Product Owner, Fixed-term until late Feb 2027
As a Product Owner, you are the ‘glue’ between our customers, our business, and our technology delivery teams.
In this role, you will work with key stakeholders to ensure Bupa is building and supporting the right Health Insurance products with our delivery teams and to ensure we are building and implementing those products in the right way. You will understand customer needs and the business’ goals and represent these in the Product Delivery domain.
What You’ll Be Doing
Here's what you can look forward to in this role:
- Actively engaging with Product Delivery leaders, Product Managers, Initiative Owners and Delivery Managers to understand their priorities and provide thought leadership on how to continuously improve Product Delivery
- In collaboration with Product Management and Business Analysts - analyse and decompose business requirements into epics, features and user stories, also including acceptance criteria
- Ensure focus on relevant features and priority of team backlog and roadmap
- Creating, prioritising and maintaining the team backlog, defining release and sprint goals and answering questions to add detail to features and user stories
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand business drivers, considerations and ensure necessary approvals
- Contribute to ongoing product delivery improvement, including management of small changes, bug fixes and optimisations, together with larger roadmap initiatives
- Act as the voice of the customer and business in all situations

To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally have:
- Demonstrated experience in Health Insurance industry including fulfilment of Health Insurance regulatory requirements
- The ability to communicate, facilitate, collaborate and lead – and know when to use each
- Experience working across multiple streams in a fast paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment
- Experience working in an Agile delivery environment as a Product Owner advantageous or experience working as a Senior Business Analyst fulfilling similar responsibilities as a Product Owner.
- Developing functional and non-functional requirements that can be translated into epics and features
- Defining integration feature delivery backlogs together with Solution Architects
- Applying different approaches to prioritisation
- Creating and refining the backlog for a team to deliver
- Demonstrated understanding of Scrum and Agile
- Understanding incremental delivery of value
- Strong business acumen, you understand the bigger picture and can communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels
