Bupa Named Gold Employer in 2025 Australian Workplace Equality Index
We’re proud to share that Bupa has been awarded Gold Employer accreditation in the 2025 Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) — the national benchmark for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion.
This is a major milestone for us. Just three years ago, we had no accreditation. In 2022, we achieved Bronze. And now, we’ve made a remarkable leap straight to Gold — the only employer to do so this year.
The AWEI is a rigorous assessment of inclusive policies, leadership, visibility, and the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ employees. Achieving Gold places Bupa among the top performers in Australia and reflects the strength of our culture and deep commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The award was presented at the Australian LGBTQ+ Inclusion Awards held in Sydney, which recognised large and small employers across the country for their efforts to create inclusive, equitable workplaces. It’s a powerful reminder that LGBTQ+ inclusion isn’t just the right thing to do — it builds stronger, more engaged teams and better workplaces for everyone.
